Why should I choose Lesher Natural Stone, Quartz, & Tile over all the other fabricators available?
Experience, reputation, quality assurance, and we are local. We’ve been here for over 20 years and we’ll be here for many more to come. We stand behind the products we create with a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee.

Do I get to choose my exact slab that you will use for my project?
Yes, you do! No surprises for you or us. We ask that you pick your slab, we tag it with your name, we mark it sold, and we hold it until your job starts.

Do I need an appointment?

No. You may visit us any Monday - Friday from 8 am - 4 pm. If you need other hours we are more than happy to schedule an appointment in the evening or on a Saturday. Just ask.

What is your square foot price?
No bait and switch here! We offer bottom line or exact pricing. No hidden extras. Our special program puts all your specific details into consideration. Stone choice, design details, exact amount of material, sink cut out(s), sink choice, faucet choice, tear out, plumbing, installation, mileage cost and more all go into the pricing equation. No guess work. Priced to the T, so there are no surprises or add ons later, unless you make a change. All jobs are accurately and fairly priced for you and us.

Design Details - means the exact amount of material, amount of corners, amount of polished linear edge, radius dimension to cut and polish, drop in sink or undermount(more to polish), amount of seams, installation degree of difficulty, etc.

What maintenance is involved with natural stone?
We recommend you seal most stones every 1 - 2 years with an impregnating stone sealer. The lighter the stone the more often it may be necessary. The process is simple; wipe a thin layer of sealer on the counter, wait 15 minutes, then wipe off. This liquid will “lock” into the pores of your stone to prevent colored foods, oils, drinks from seeping into the pores and discoloring the stone.

However this does not “stain proof” all natural stones such as marble which is more porous than granite, but it will give you an extended clean up time. Impregnating sealers, polishes, and cleaners are available at our showroom and most home improvement stores.

How do I know if I need to seal my granite?

One method you can use to check if your granite needs to be resealed is to sprinkle some water on your countertops. If the water soaks into the stone, which may make it appear darker and does not bead up or stay on the surface, then it’s time to reseal your granite. Clean your countertop, let the surface dry completely, then go ahead and seal your countertop.

What are the differences and similarities between Quartz and Granite?

The first difference is that quartz is a man-made product and granite is a natural stone from the earth. Both are durable choices for a countertop. Quartz can cantilever beyond the cabinet further than granite without additional support. You can cut on granite, but you may eventually dull your knife.

You should not cut on Quartz because it may scratch. You can take a pot out of the oven or off a burner and place it right on your granite countertop, but you shouldn’t do that with Quartz because it is not heat resistant. Granite may be more porous, quartz is not at all and never needs sealed. Granite should be sealed. Impregnating sealers seal the pores of your granite countertop and are simple to apply.

At Lesher Natural Stone Quartz & Tile we always apply a premium impregnating stone sealer after fabrication and before installation. Polished granite has more of a high gloss look than polished quartz. Both granite and quartz have additional options for surface finishes.

Should I bring anything with me when I come in?

Yes, please do! If you have a drawing, rough measurements, or plan of your countertop or bathroom layout bring them along. That will help us do an exact price quote. Also, bring any samples from your kitchen or bathroom that will help us help you pick colors and textures that coordinate.

How do I get an estimate?

Stop by our showroom with a dimensional drawing of your kitchen that includes rough measurements. Or, you may fax or email it to us. These are not the measurements that will be used to make your countertop, so you don’t need to worry about having exact measurements.

At Lesher Natural Stone, Quartz, & Tile we offer precise digital templating of your project after you have approved our quote. In order for us to give you an accurate detailed quote, we must first start with your kitchen's estimated dimensions and layout. If you are not using a contractor who provides this, we can help you create your own drawing showing the layout and dimensions. It's really simple. Please stop in or give us a call to discuss this.

May I do it myself?

Yes. You may bring your builder, contractor, designer or you can work directly with us. Just let us know if you are working with a contractor and we will coordinate things from here.

Will you work with my contractor?

Absolutely! We work with many contractors throughout Central PA. It’s ultimately your choice for all subcontractors working on your project.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, we do.

What will my seams look like and how many will I have?
That’s an excellent question. At Lesher Natural Stone, Quartz, & Tile we do what it takes to have as few seams as possible and the ones that you will have will be done to our highest standard, but they will be somewhat visible. Slab size, weight of the material, cabinet structure, placement of the cutouts (sinks, stoves), and access to the job or layout of the countertops can all effect how many seams and where the seams are placed.

We use a special apparatus during the installation to create the tightest seam possible. We use a color matching epoxy that is mixed to match your countertop to help minimize the visibility. Our sales staff will work with you in every way possible to ensure that seams are kept to a minimum and are discreetly placed as best as they can be, while still maintaining the structural integrity of the stone. We invite you to come into the showroom and check out some of our seams.

My sample of granite has pits on the surface. Will I have these pits in my countertop?
Granite, which is crystalline in its structure, always has tiny pits or pores, which are spaces between the various mineral crystals. You tend not to notice them on a larger piece because the overall appearance is polished and mirror-like.

Granite sometimes has natural fissures as well, which may look like cracks, but are not structural defects and are a naturally occurring result of the immense heat and pressure which formed the stone thousands of years ago. These characteristics are part of the natural beauty of stone and will not impair the function or durability of the material. At Lesher Natural Stone, Quartz, & Tile we apply a premium stone impregnating sealer to all stone surfaces before they leave our fabrication facility.

What does “The Lesher Difference” really mean?

We realize there are many options when it comes to choosing a company to fabricate and install your new countertop. So how do you make the right choice? You may want to consider these benefits and compare them:

*Our family started the business almost 20 years ago which means we have a proven track record of EXPERIENCE handling all kinds of unique work.

*Our REPUTATION is of excellence that is unsurpassed. Ask your friends and neighbors about our work.

* POSITIVE REVIEWS about us are everywhere. Check out Angie’s List or our love notes posted on Stone Savvy, our company blog.

*Guess where our biggest source of business comes from? It comes from PREVIOUS CUSTOMERS having more work done such as bathrooms, basement bars, outdoor kitchens, fireplace surrounds, or a new home.

*Guess where our second biggest source of business comes from? It’s REFERRALS that come from our happy customers. We try to please everyone because we know it’s important. Plain and simple, if you LOVE your new countertop then you’ll have great things to say about us.

*We are truly LOCAL and so are our employees. Many have been working with us since the beginning.

*The “box store concept” is not who we are. We love to do a custom job with unique touches that only a HANDS ON COMPANY can do.

*We can do your ENTIRE JOB - tear out, plumbing disconnect and hook-up, prep work for installation, etc.

*We are CLEAN as we work. We always do the dirty work prior to installation and not in your home. No cutting or polishing on the premises unless absolutely necessary!

*We do accurate and EXACT PRICING based on your layout and design. No square foot pricing(because not every square foot is the same), no “free things”, and certainly no bait and switch tactics here. Just a fair price for your job done exquisitely the first time around.

*No job is too small or too big at Lesher Natural Stone, Quartz, & Tile. And certainly no job is too complicated. We THRIVE ON CHALLENGES that require intense thought, planning, and detail. Remember we are not trying to operate as a mass production facility or a “box” store. We find our business to be parallel to the fine arts so therefore the craftsmanship of fabrication and installation is an acquired skill.

*STATE OF THE ART EQUIPMENT is what we use, period: Digital computerized templating for accuracy, CNC computerized machines for precise cutting and polishing, and more.

We suggest you don’t assume everyone is like us. We’re like natural stone, no two are alike. Do your research. Ask the right questions.
Now you heard the story of the Lesher Difference. We hope you enjoy your shopping and buying experience. And, we hope to see you again soon!
