Stone Showcase: Mione Family Remodeling and Renee’s New Kitchen

Just the other day I had the pleasure of meeting Renee “%$*&(” of Harrisburg. She just experienced her first ever renovation as a single lady after living in her home that she has adored for 36 years. Renee wanted to find someone that offered new design ideas for her kitchen and family room and most importantly someone that she could trust. After all, she is a single lady who is not familiar with the construction/remodeling business.

I asked Renee how she went about finding that special contractor that she could trust and find some new design ideas?

“Several friends and co-workers had their kitchens remodeled by the Mione Family. When visiting with a friend, admiring her new kitchen, I asked who did the remodel. She recommended the Mione Family. Discussing the possibility of a kitchen remodel while out to lunch with several retired co-workers, it turned out that the Mione’s had successfully completed a kitchen remodel for one of them. And finally, while discussing my ideas with Chris, he asked if I knew one of the neighbors nearby. I responded that I knew them quite well and had admired a recent addition to their home. And, of course, it turned out that it too was a Mione project.”

Here is what things looked like before Renee hired Chris Mione from Mione Family Remodeling.

Why did Renee choose Mione Family Remodeling over all of the other choices available? Here’s her response.

“I made several contacts to prospective remodelers. Chris Mione did not hesitate to make an appointment promptly. His immediate attention to my request signaled that my project would be given prompt action.”

Now let’s take a peak at how things turned out. Oh, what a difference! Refreshing, open, light, bright and spacious are just a few words to describe the new look.

As you may remember years ago, rooms were rooms created by walls. Now we tend to like our indoor living space to intermingle from room to room with more open space and less walls, which block views and make us feel more confined. Now everything in the kitchen/family room area is light, bright and more open.
For the counter top Renee chose the linwood color made by Cambria. This is a quartz product which is a beautiful man-made stone. Not familiar with quartz products? You may digress and read more about the product here.

Renee, what was your experience during the renovation?
“My experience began with a meeting to choose cabinets, a countertop, the backsplash and the sink. The support of Chris and the representatives from the retailers he used demonstrated their knowledge of materials, colors, and coordination which gave me confidence.
My introduction to the carpenters, electrician, plumber, and painters was wonderfully satisfying. Each tradesman demonstrated a knowledge and respect for their particular skill that fostered even more confidence and trust.
The daily commitment to the job beginning consistently at the appointed time, and ending with a thorough cleaning of the workplace made the renovation as comfortable as it could be. I appreciated the professional attitude of each skilled workman.”
Now let’s look at all the details up close …

Did the project meet your expectations upon completion?

“I am very satisfied with the project. I have the kitchen of my dreams. I look forward to cooking and entertaining family as well as friends often during my retirement years.”

What are your thoughts about Lesher Natural Stone, Quartz, & Tile?

“The accuracy given to the initial measuring and design specifications assured me that this project would be handled professionally. The installation of the countertop was a remarkable event. This extremely heavy material, quartz, was carefully handled and placed. The seams have been artfully concealed. And finally, the installers could knowledgeably answer questions about the use and care of the selected material, Cambria, Quartz.”
