Re-purposed Bistro Table and Wine Rack Table

The Association of Faculty and Friends of the Penn State Hershey Medical Center have an annual event called the Ladies Luncheon and Fashion Show held at the Hotel Hershey. Their mission is to raise money to support and promote medical education, research, clinical care and scholarship; to provide a community of friendship to their members through interest groups; and to serve the needs of the community of which we are a part. The AFF’s Ladies Luncheon and Fashion Show is one of our annual charitable events that we donate to every year. When the Association of Faculty and Friends of the Penn State Hershey Medical Center approached us asking for a donation this year, Frank Lesher and family came up with the perfect idea that coincidentally matched this year’s theme of “Napa Valley”. Frank envisioned a bistro table made of re-purposed staves from a wine barrel.

This stunning, one of a kind, custom made bistro table has a natural stone top made of Verde Vermont Serpentine, a natural stone quarried in Vermont. It looks like a green marble, but it is durable like granite.

The base is made from a reclaimed wine barrel using the individual staves along with black walnut accents. The bottom base is made from red cedar wood. The diameter of the top and bottom is 24 inches. The bistro table stands 42 inches high.

But wait, you can’t make a bistro table without a wine rack table too!  So the project continues with using all the same materials to make a matching wine rack table.

NOTE:  With the wine rack table, we do recommend that it be secured to your wall with clips for safety purposes.

Our bistro table will be in the Live Auction at the Ladies Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Hotel Hershey this Wednesday, April 5th.  The wine rack table will be available during the silent auction where you can “buy it now” or just bid and see if you win.  Best wishes to everyone who will be attending.  May we raise some money for a wonderful local cause. Cheers!
