Kitchen Tips: MiX iT uP!

I am a HUGE fan of mixing elements in kitchen design. So when I saw this post on HOUZZ about “mixing and matching kitchen materials for a knock out design”, I had to share it with you. Scroll through the HOUZZ post above and see many pictures that demonstrate some of the possibilities and show you that it can be done aesthetically.

For example, why use the same stone for your entire kitchen especially if it’s a large kitchen? Make the island pop as your centerpiece.  Make the perimeter one color and the island the opposite. Here is one of many that we have done this way.  Note this is the opposite of the HOUZZ example.  The customer wanted the island white marble and the perimeter is Soapstone. Both materials have nice veining throughout the material:

Want an all white kitchen? Then use different “textures” of white: textured tile, white glass tile, a polished white countertop, suede paint, traditional white cabinets. If you keep the color mostly the same then texture and finish adds the interest.  And when you add the finishing decor to your kitchen, it  will pop off of the white such as the tea kettle above.  And an item like the tea kettle can change with the season or your mood.

If you are saying to yourself I am not sure how or where to start, then rest assured we can help guide you in the right direction. Your kitchen remodel can be easy with some experienced guidance. You know what you like and we know what will work. Together we can help you create your own kitchen masterpiece that represents a reflection of you.
