Was there a cabinet maker, builder, or anyone you’d like to give credit to regarding the inspiration, design or decorating of your kitchen?

The inspiration was the dog.  He did not like the laminate floor.   We started with the new floor and went from there!

Our remodel story:

“My husband built our home some 20 years ago so it was in need of some freshening. We did the kitchen because our dog did not like the laminate flooring that was down.  We picked out a ceramic wood plank floor which my husband installed.   Due to its look and texture, the dog is no longer afraid to walk on the floor.  The old backsplash had an apple design which I was not fond of.  We found a travertine backsplash which my husband also installed.  So we were done until I posted photos on Facebook of our new floor and new backsplash.  My old friend, Scott Spidle, who happens to work for Lesher, responded that we needed quartz countertops to finish off the project.  I was leery on spending the money but I am so glad that we did.  I absolutely love it!!!  We didn’t go with quartz but went with the steel gray granite with a honed surface and a rock pitch edge profile which really adds an extra dimension to the countertops.  We did not replace the cabinets.  They are natural hickory and still are in very good condition.  We selected an undermount Solera sink which is deep and great for washing big pots and pans.  We replaced our old refrigerator with a French door LG refrigerator in black stainless steel. The other appliances will be replaced with black stainless eventually.  We added a fresh coat of light taupe paint that also helped to give a warmer feeling to the room.  I love that, with the remodel, the kitchen now blends much better with the feel of the house.  And if we decide to change gears completely, it’s versatile enough that we could.  It brings a warm, country, woodsy look and feel to our home. We look forward to our next remodel which will include two bathrooms and we will be installing natural stone in them too.”
