Tile Tuesday: Outdoor Kitchen Poolside with Custom Mosaic Tile

What makes Lesher Natural Stone, Quartz, & Tile different from other stone fabricators? We do tile. Below you will see the process, with pictures, that tells the story from idea to completion in this custom outdoor kitchen.

First let’s start with the Minsk Granite counter top that was installed. After installation, there was a little debate as to what to do with the cinder block frame below the counter top. Knowing that this is an out door kitchen that sits pool side, Frank Lesher came up with the creative idea to use some bright tile colors in a mosaic fashion. John and Pamra Bowser, the owners of the home, loved the idea and added to it with some bright marbles and we added some flat field stones to it also. Cameron, our tile installer, came up with how to make the design work. That’s his secret, I’m not sharing that!

Here are the tile colors he was to use.

Pamra really liked the bright blue, so Cameron made sure to use more of these.

To make the tiles uneven, Cameron smashed them methodically in the wheel barrow first.

Once a batch of tiles were ready he could begin the process.

Cameron had a method to his creativity as he laid the tiles, marbles, and stones.
